About Our College

Dhupguri Girls’ College

Dhupguri Girls’ College was established in 2013 by local enthusiasts dedicated to advancing women's education in the region. Initially located at Dhupguri High School Chatra Abasan, the college moved to its current 5-acre scenic campus near Dhupguri - Falakata Road on 16 September 2016. The campus, situated in College Para, Ward No- 1, is affiliated with the University of North Bengal and is accessible by a one-hour bus journey from Jalpaiguri. The college currently offers B.A. (Hons and Program) courses with approximately 1000 students.

Academic Programs

The college offers Honors in Bengali, English, History, Political Science, and Geography. Additionally, Program courses are available in Philosophy, Sanskrit, Education, and Sociology. New faculty members have recently joined, and the college plans to introduce vocational, job-oriented courses, and a science stream in the coming academic session.

Recent Developments

During the pandemic, the college adopted several digital initiatives, including faculty exchange programs and student seminars. Recent developments also include the opening of a college canteen and an indoor gymnasium, funded by the NBDD, Government of West Bengal.

The NSS unit for girls actively works to educate and empower female students in the region, furthering the college’s commitment to social service and student development.
