About the Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science was established in 2018 with Honours students. Initially, there were two teachers: one guest faculty and one assistant professor. Now, the department is led by two assistant professors who guide students sincerely for their utmost benefit, always keeping their future in mind.
The department ensures a blended approach to education by offering both online and offline teaching modes, especially during emergencies or as per students’ requirements. Teaching is based on the newly designed CBCS syllabus, covering various dynamic topics such as Indian Politics, International Relations, Public Administration, Indian Thought, Western Thought, the Indian Constitution, and Women’s Studies, among others.
Political Science, with its dynamic scope and diverse theoretical frameworks, has been a vital discipline in the institution. Currently, with a strength of four faculty members, the department offers the subject at both Honours and General levels under the CBCS education system. The department provides online classes and study materials, ensuring the completion of syllabi even during challenging times such as the pandemic.
The department boasts a rich library, enabling students to refer to and borrow books as needed. Additionally, students are encouraged to engage in activities such as Essay Writing Competitions, Youth Parliament Competitions, Quizzes, Extempore Speeches, and more. These activities not only enhance their knowledge but also prepare them for future leadership roles.
