About:

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports of the Government of India. The aim of this Scheme is to provide opportunities for students to participate in a variety of government-led community service activities and programs. The objective of the NSS is to offer hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.

Activities and Initiatives:

As part of its commitment to social empowerment and education, the NSS Units of Dhupguri Girls' College often undertake projects related to rural development, health and sanitation, and environmental conservation. We have three active NSS units in our college that work collaboratively with students and the surrounding communities. Our activities include:

Cleaning Campaigns: Regular cleanliness drives to maintain hygiene and sanitation in the community.

Health Screenings: Organizing health camps for regular check-ups and awareness on health issues.

Blood Donation Camps: Conducting blood donation drives to support local blood banks and hospitals.

Social Awareness Programs: Running campaigns to raise awareness on various social issues such as literacy, gender equality, and sustainable living.

To enhance both physical and mental well-being, NSS also organizes self-defense training, as well as yoga and meditation sessions.

Participation: NSS is open to all students. Those who are interested and willing to participate are advised to contact the Officer-in-charge for further details.

Motto: The motto of the National Service Scheme is “NOT ME BUT YOU,” emphasizing the spirit of selfless service and community welfare.
